Teri Avakian
Senior Planner                                                    

Teri Avakian earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from San Diego State University
and later completed her paralegal certificate at the University of San Diego. Before joining Earl
& Curley, Teri built a diverse career in public sector planning, with experience spanning
residential, commercial, hotel, and industrial projects. Her background includes positions with
the City of San Diego, the Port of San Diego, the City of Dana Point, and as a contractor for the
U.S. Navy.

With over 25 years of professional planning experience, Teri brings a deep understanding of
municipal and governmental requirements. She is highly skilled in site planning, permit drafting,
and project management, making her a valuable resource for navigating complex development
processes.

Outside of work, Teri enjoys staying active through biking, hiking, working out, and playing
pickleball.
